Movin' Round

The first contemporary Aboriginal art exhibition in the Central West.

The exhibition was curated by Jody Chester at Orange Regional Gallery from 3rd June to the 10th July 2005.

Even though many of the artists are living out of their traditional country they still find a connection with each other.

The exhibition was to acknowledge the cultural existence of Aboriginal Australians from the southern regions of Australia. The continual need for Aboriginal Australians to legitimse their identity in an ignorant Australian society is still an ongoing concern today in 2005.

The artists were:

  • Trisha Carroll (Wiradjuri)
  • Beverley June Coe (Wiradjuri)
  • Wayne Krauss Wiradjuri/Ngambaa)
  • Georgina Moran (Wiradjuri)
  • Johanna Parker (Murriwarri)
  • Evelyn Powell (Wiradjuri)
  • Nyree Reynolds (Gamillaroi)
  • Michael Riley (Wiradjuri/Gamillaroi)
  • r e a (Gamillaray/Wailwan)
  • James Simon (Wiradjuri)
  • Bob Sutor (Bundjalong)
  • Paul Taylor (Wiradjuri)
  • HJ Wedge (Wiradjuri)
