I was invited by the Department of Disability Ageing and Homecare to be one of their Seniors Week Ambassadors for 2005 and 2006.
In 2005 the Ambassadors were Jack Thompson AM, Donnie Sutherland OAM, Henri Szeps OAM, Jimmy Little AO, John Hockney, Cornelia Francise, King Fong OAM and myself.
I presented Seniors Week Achievement Awards to outstanding seniors at the Seniors Week Achievement Award ceremony at Sydney Town Hall. The ceremony was hosted by the Hon John Della Bosca MLC, the Minister for Ageing. I also conducted an art workshop at Redfern Community Centre with Aboriginal Elders and I attended the garden party at the Sydney Botanical Gardens.
As an Ambassador for Seniors Week 2006 I conducted Art workshops with seniors in Blayney as part of the Seniors week activities.
